The newly introduced R6 wheel by ADVAN Racing showcases a design that draws inspiration from the ADVAN Racing RG-D2 models, while pushing the boundaries of its possibilities by expanding to 20-inch sizes. This wheel has been meticulously crafted with the goal of evolving the RG-D2 design and extending it to larger diameters. The decision to utilize the mold-form forging process was driven by the aspiration to develop high-level specifications for this sizable wheel.


Much like the seamless transition seen in the 18-inch TCIII to the 20-inch GT, the same forging process was applied to create the ADVAN Racing R6. However, the R6 is not merely a reiteration of its predecessors. The designers at Yokohama aimed to introduce innovative elements to set the R6 apart. While the GT model boasts a deep rim, the R6's design takes inspiration from the step-rim form of the RG-D2 models, albeit adapted to a larger 20-inch size.


The key design features of the ADVAN Racing R6 wheel include:


Elongated Spokes: The six slim spokes have been meticulously elongated to suit the 20-inch form while preserving the sleek and refined lines that define ADVAN Racing wheels.


Concave Shape: A distinctive concave shape has been achieved by positioning the spokes on the inner side of the step rim. This arrangement creates elegant and curving lines, contributing to the wheel's overall aesthetic.


Advanced Side Cuts: The curved spokes incorporate advanced side cuts that bring them together at the inner forks. This design not only reduces the wheel's weight but also accentuates the curves and contours of the spokes.


Stepped Deep Rim: One of the standout features of the R6 wheel is the stepped deep rim. This design element enhances the visual impact of the larger diameter wheel, making it visually distinct from the GT model.


The ADVAN Racing R6 wheel presents an entirely new aesthetic realm, departing from the look and feel of the ADVAN Racing GT wheels. The depth of the rim is offered in three variations: standard, medium, and extra. Importantly, all three variants, including the step portion, are deeper than what is typically seen in GT wheels. This design philosophy and execution reflect the vision of bringing a fresh and striking form to sports wheels, introducing a design that is visually captivating and attuned to the preferences of modern enthusiasts.
