The genesis of the TE37 SAGA SL project was marked at the onset of 2020. Commencing shortly after the near-completion of the TE37 SAGA S-plus development, the prototype emerged triumphant in the benchmark test. With validation further fortified through comprehensive vehicle drive tests and a triumphant victory in the 24-hour race of the Super Taikyu Series, Rays ignited the full-fledged development of the TE37 SAGA SL.

While the SAGA S-plus evolved into a wheel tailored for Super Taikyu races, meticulously designed to harmonize with a wide spectrum of vehicles, the journey of creating the TE37 SAGA SL remained rooted in the authentic essence of the SL Series. This essence encompassed the hallmarks of lightness, TE37 racing concave aesthetics, and the iconic diamond-cut machining, emblematic of the SL's unparalleled lightness, underscored by a distinct clear black finish.
