The Grimmspeed Billet Top Mount Intercooler is a high-performance intercooler designed with a focus on increased airflow, reduced restriction, and higher flow rates. Grimmspeed used 3D scanning technology on their R&D vehicle to create a virtual model of the 2022 WRX, ensuring a perfect fit within the tightly packed engine bay.

  1. Cross-flow Core: The intercooler features a 19in x 7in x 4in cross-flow core with bar and plate construction, providing a 63% increase in total volume and 209% more flow area than the stock top mount intercooler.

  2. Billet Aluminum End Tanks: The standout feature of the intercooler is its billet aluminum end tanks, designed for equal flow distribution and minimum pressure drop. This innovative design aligns with the sleek and modern aesthetic of the new generation VB WRX body style.

  3. CNC Milling Technology: Grimmspeed used 4-axis CNC milling technology to precisely craft the intercooler's end tanks with a higher degree of accuracy and consistency than traditional manufacturing methods.

  4. Leak Resistant Throttle Body Connection: The intercooler features a pre-installed double O-ring on the throttle body connection, ensuring a leak-free connection at elevated boost levels.

  5. Quick-Release Double O-Ring Technology: The same quick-release double O-ring technology used on the OEM unit streamlines the installation process, ensuring the end tanks will not fail or leak over time.

  6. Pressure Tested In-House: Each intercooler is pressure tested in-house, cleaned, sealed, and guaranteed to work prior to delivery.

  7. Replacement Chargepipe Coupler Included: The intercooler comes with a replacement chargepipe coupler that replaces the factory rubber coupler.

  8. No Tune Required: The intercooler can safely be run on the factory calibration without the need for additional tuning.
