Blow-by is an inescapable result of forced induction. When compressed gases recycle through the PCV system, oil particles travel with them, leading to oil buildup on your intake system and valves. This can result in carbon deposits on valves and a reduction in combustion chamber octane caused by the oil-air mixture. Direct injection engines, like the FA24DIT in the 2022+ WRX, are especially susceptible to heavy carbon buildup.

Mishimoto's Baffled Oil Catch Can stops these problems by filtering the oil from air returning to the intake system. Air flows through a 50-micron bronze filter then the air diverter baffle, trapping oily particles to condense and drip into the canister. Remaining air is clean and ready for reuse, and the can is 100% washable and comes with billet 6061 aluminum, steel powder-coated bracket, pre-formed hoses and all necessary hardware for an easy installation.
