Less bends means less materials used. They even went so far as to think about the extra weight regular style flanges add, so they went ahead and went with a weight saving spring and clamp setup.

Fitment Note: If you will be mating this exhaust to a stock or a downpipe with a stock style do it rear flange you will need to purchase a stock to 3" exhaust adapter.
